10 takeaway places to satisfy that rumbling stomach right now in the City of Joondalup.

Are you going a bit stir crazy cooking at home each night? I know I for one would love to be able to get out to my local pub and have a specials menu feed and a pint one night this week.

You can still enjoy the feeling of getting take out, a beer (drink it at home, though) and support your local businesses who are obviously struggling

at the moment.

Here are 10 places I think you should check out in our City!

1) The MAAC (Marmion Angling & Aquatic Club) which is normally open only to members, have a small yet solid menu that is insanely well priced, available for takeaway. Think $10.00 Parmi or Cheeseburger. They have a $5 kids menu. Call, pay & rock up - they deliver it to your window. You can't go wrong! (Note: This one gets busy)

2) Marmion Liquor Barons

Nathan and the crew here are always welcoming. On your way to the MAAC pop in here and grab a couple of takeaway cans or a bottle of wine. They have every craft beer you can imagine and even have beer on tap for takeaway.

3) Woodys Pizza - Woodvale

A staple of the area, over recent years they have invested in upgrading equipment. Woody's is one of my favourite Pizza places and on Monday & Tuesday they have two large pizzas for $23 which is hard to beat for the quality. Other specials available on Wednesday & currently offering contactless delivery as an option. The Capricosa is my go to but the Meatlovers is definitely worth a look!

4) Bump In Burger - Woodvale

This one is a must! Well priced, fresh ingredients and a burger that always over delivers! Friendly staff & a sweet decor (not that we can enjoy dining in, right now - Damn you 'rona!) In terms of what to get, the 'Jack Sabbath' is hard to go past, a mouthwatering cheeseburger with all the usual add ons. They have an unreal vegetarian range which I also highly recommend! No phone orders, so head on over - Last orders at 7.45pm sharp!

5) Miss Chows Whitfords

You had me at dumplings. Most of you have had Miss Chows, and they have always been available via Uber Eats, but they are now offering their menu via misschows.mobi2go.com and have 10% off this month by using the code APRIL10. They have takeaway beer options aswell, last week Kaiju Krush was one of the options! Well worth a look!

6) Alex Junior Espresso

Over the last few years these guys have developed a cult like following (I'm one of them).

The team at Alex are one of the few coffee shops that dish out coffee after coffee of consistent quality. They smash out their brews in great time, so you won't have to make excuses as to why you're late for work. For those budding baristas, they have all the gear & beans for sale to try and replicate the quality coffee that is Alex Junior! If you like coffee, you need to go see these guys! 7) Eccolo Italian

My wife is of Italian heritage so you can only imagine how often she would like us to consume Italian food. This family owned restaurant tucked away in Hillarys is delightful. When we can go for sit down meals again, this will be right at the top of my list. The food is of very high quality, they make everything in house fresh daily. From the pasta to the pizza dough and everything in between. The family prides themselves on sourcing high quality meats & seafood and are always just lovely to chat with. They have been doing different specials, sometimes up to 20% off your takeaway order. Go check them out and make sure you get the Buffalo Prosciutto Board, you'll thank me later!

8) Larry's Unique Thai

If you live nearby to this place, you would have been there for sure. Larry is always there, he remembers everyone and they serve up delicious food. A couple of our favourites are the Panang Chicken curry and Chilli Lemongrass Lamb, oh and the spring rolls are perfect! Go here and you'll want to keep going back!

9) Voyage Kitchen

A staple of the weekend coast walks, Voyage is still running their quick grab food from the fridge & that important coffee hit for after (or during) your walk. They are also doing takeaway orders (open till 3pm) with menu items like Linguine Bolognese & Tom Yum fried rice for only $12. Definitely worth checking out and stocking up for dinner (Or a cheap lunch!)

10) 2 Fat Indians - Joondalup

How could we have a 'must eat' list and not get these guys on there. We all love an Indian feed and these guys have been working hard through the last few weeks to serve up their delicious food. They have a large menu of starters all the way through to the curries - a vast array of Lamb, chicken, goat, seafood and vegetarian are there to choose from. You can order takeaway through all the usual websites, or text in your order.
